WHEN COPY AND PASTE ARE JUST NOT ENOUGH!

In trying to make a visually attractive Power Point Presentation, I found that the process of updating a document that I was familiar with, was not the right ‘key’ to access the information that I desired to have. I saw a video clip online, that I knew would really make my assignment stand out so I tried to copy and paste it into my slide but nothing happened. Fervently I tried to copy and paste, hoping that it would work just as an ordinary clip art, but to no avail. Then I did a search online and came across a software tool called Free Studio.
This software is FREE from DVDVideoSoft as referenced from http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/free-dvd-video-software.htm . It offers a holistic package that helped to solve my multimedia confusion. The software was only 1.21 KB so it did not take too long to download. There were four categories under the following headings: (1)Internet, (2) DVD & Video, (3)MP3 and Audio and (4) CD / DVD / BD. Different options were offered under each category such as, YouTube download, Video to DVD Converter, Audio to Flash converter, DVD Video Burner and much more, up to 23 programs to be exact, all at your disposal which was a great advantage because more of your needs could be met. Also, the program was easy to use, I simple clicked on an option, a window opened and the program was ready to begin. To say the least, I had a good time! I got cool stuff from YouTube saved to my laptop so that I wouldn’t have to be online to view a video or listen to music or depend on a hyperlink to a source online for a presentation to be accomplished. Also by using the option to convert music from a CD to Mp3, I was able to successfully complete my audio piece for this blog.
One disadvantage I realized was its lack of independence of the internet for some options. If I downloaded a song from YouTube to my computer and then decided to change its format to MP3, it could not be changed via this software in that way. That needed to be decided first, because for the program to execute that function, the source was needed.
As a teacher this software, offers many opportunities to enhance lessons and make the classroom experience one that could be enjoyed and facilitate learning at a faster rate because you would have caught students’ attention and used a modem of teaching that they would have been able to connect to.

WinZip

WinZip is an excellent software tool that helps you do a variety of things. With its many wizards to guide you, execution of any of its features are quickly done.

WinZip allows you to zip and unzip files. The benefit of doing this is twofold, that is to conserve disk spae and greatly reduce e-mail transmission time. If you have the luxury of still having to use a dial-up connection as myself, you can surely imagine my dilemma. Trying to attach files containing text and pictures seemed to take forever, but with a zip file, the overall time taken to send an e-mail is considerably reduced.

WinZip integrates with Windows to open RAR and other file types. This is excellent for downloading. Once I had to download an e-book called Fundamentals of Engineering Thermodynamics for my brother. The compressed e-book was 26.9 MB rar. When it was extracted, it was 75.5 MB pdf. The result therefore was a file that was approximately 65% smaller which took about 35% of the time it would have taken, had the file not been compressed. Surely there was less hassle on my part.

WinZip offers AES (Advanced Encrytion Standard) encrytion to keep files secure via passwords. This is a great feature for highly confidential information.

If you're as busy as myself with no time to waste, try WinZip. Now that I've tried it I would highly recommend it.
